My Participation in an Educational Conference at AMINU KANO COLLEGE OF ISLAMIC AND LEGAL STUDIES
I had the honor of participating in an impactful educational conference on “Emergent Technology and Tertiary Education: Challenges and Prospects” at Aminu Kano College of Islamic and Legal Studies (AKCILS) on November 5th, 2024. The event, hosted by the Research and Development Committee of the School of Secondary Education Sciences, brought together thought leaders and educators to discuss the evolving role of technology in education.
In my goodwill message, I shared insights into the success of ENGAUSA GLOBAL TECH HUB as a model for harnessing the potential of our youth through an inclusive, mother-tongue-based system of learning tech-savvy skills. The journey of ENGAUSA serves as a testament to the transformative power of inclusive education, and it was inspiring to highlight our graduates’ achievements in entrepreneurship and employment.
I also addressed the conference theme by discussing both the challenges and opportunities presented by emerging technologies. As technology reshapes our world, we must consider both the potential benefits and the issues that can arise in integrating these advancements into tertiary education. This discourse, along with presentations by Hon. Muhammad Tajo Usman, Commissioner of Science and Technology, and Prof. Ahmad Iliyasu, who ably represented Prof. Abdallah Uba Adamu, Dean of the Faculty of Education at Bayero University Kano, helped illuminate the path forward.
The video of my address and the conference proceedings will soon be released. Thank you to AKCILS for this invitation and for creating a platform for meaningful dialogue on the future of education and technology.
